Our First Projects in the Art Studio!

We've been having a great time this month in the Art Room. We started off with a school-wide project where each student drew and painted a self-portrait. I've worked hard hanging up each one of these beautiful and creative works. Notice how they are all so wonderfully different!




Once students finished their portraits, each grade level started focusing on LINES through three different projects using oil pastels, watercolor and tempera cake paints. 

Kindergartners have been creating shooting stars that truly burst with a variety of line:



1st Graders have started a large scale mixed media painting exploring the relationship between shape and line:


2nd Graders have practiced using lines and shapes to draw images of Owls. Students have been using their Owls as vehicles to demonstrate pattern through the use of line:
